This NVQ is for those who work with different types of insulation and building treatments and want to prove their competence in the following areas: External Wall Insulation – Boarder, Cavity Wall Insulation, Cold Roof Insulation, Draught-proofing, Internal Insulation, Insulate Framed Sections of Buildings, External Wall Insulation – Finisher, Warm Roof Insulation and Floor Insulation.

How it works:

Registration: Upon enrolment, we’ll assign a dedicated assessor to you.
Site Visits: Your assessor will schedule site visits based on your work availability to observe your skills.
Evidence Gathering: During these visits, your assessor will capture evidence through photos, videos, and recording.
Workbook: You will complete a workbook questionnaire containing knowledge questions about your role.
Discussion: You will discuss with your assessor how you carry out your role.
Completion: The qualification is typically achieved within 6-8 weeks.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, the candidates should be working within the industry to enrol in this NVQ.

Assessment

Practical Observation on-site. This includes documenting tasks like:

Insulation installation: Installing various types of insulation materials, such as fiberglass, rockwool, and foam, in different building components (e.g., walls, ceilings, floors).
Building treatment applications: Applying various building treatments, such as fireproofing, soundproofing, and damp proofing, to different surfaces.
Tool usage: Using specialized tools and equipment for insulation and building treatment tasks.

Workbook questionnaire to be completed over a 6-8 week period, at your own pace
