The NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Wood Occupations (Site Carpentry) is specifically designed for individuals involved in construction site carpentry, including both first and second fix tasks, such as building structures, and installing doors and windows.

Pathway to Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this Level 2 NVQ in Wood Occupations (Site Carpentry). However, you will need to be working on a construction site as a carpenter to be able to enroll in this qualification.

Assessment

Practical Observation on-site. This includes documenting tasks like:

First Fix Carpentry: installing structural elements, such as beams, joists, and wall studs, according to plans and specifications.
Second Fix Carpentry: install doors and windows, built-in cupboards, units, and other joinery elements
Using Cutting Machines: Circular saws, reciprocating saws, jigsaws, and angle grinders

Workbook questionnaire to be completed over a 6-8 week period, at your own pace
