The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations is ideal for those who have experience with complex and the installation of bespoke first and second-fix components such as Advanced Site Carpentry, Architectural, Wheelwrighting, Shopfitting Bench, Shopfitting Site, Structural Post and Beam, Timber Frame Erection. The qualification is particularly suited for individuals who lead or supervise carpenter teams while also providing a pathway to achieving a CSCS gold card.

How it works:

Registration: Upon enrolment, we’ll assign a dedicated assessor to you.
Site Visits: Your assessor will schedule site visits based on your work availability to observe your skills.
Evidence Gathering: During these visits, your assessor will capture evidence through photos, videos, and recordings.
Workbook: You’ll also complete a workbook questionnaire containing questions related to your role.
Completion: The qualification is typically achieved within 10-12 weeks.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, you should be currently working as carpenter and have experience in performing complex tasks.
You should also be able to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.

Assessment

Practical Observation on-site. This includes documenting tasks like:

Complex joinery: Creating complex joints, such as dovetails, mortise and tenon, and finger joints.
Custom-built structures: constructing custom-built components such as False chimneys, Parapet finishings
Specialized carpentry: Performing specialized carpentry tasks, such as roof framing (inclined roofs with gables), timber framing (load bearing partitions), or architectural joinery.

Workbook questionnaire to be completed over a 10-12 week period, at your own pace.
