The NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Decorative Finishing (Painting and Decorating) is ideal for those who work as professional painters or decorators and have considerable experience in doing more complex painting work. The qualification is particularly suited for individuals who lead or supervise painting teams while also providing a pathway to achieving a CSCS gold card.

How it works:

Registration: Upon enrolment, we’ll assign a dedicated assessor to you.
Site Visits: Your assessor will schedule site visits based on your work availability to observe your skills.
Evidence Gathering: During these visits, your assessor will capture evidence through photos, videos, and recordings.
Workbook: You’ll also complete a workbook questionnaire containing questions related to your role.
Completion: The qualification is typically achieved within 10-12 weeks.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. However, you should be currently working as a painter or decorator and have experience in performing complex painting tasks
You should also be able to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English.

Assessment

Practical Observation on-site. This includes documenting tasks like:

Creating various faux finishes, such as marble, wood grain, or metallic effects.
Applying special effects, such as ragging, sponging, and stencilling.
Completing large-scale or intricate painting projects, such as murals or decorative ceilings.
Supervising teams of painters, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to a high standard

Workbook questionnaire to be completed over a 10-12 week period, at your own pace.
